Therapeutic / Medical-Grade Peels FAQs

What are the benefits of a therapeutic peel?

A therapeutic peel can restore a more youthful appearance to any skin. Our Aesthetician can advise you on what a Peel can do for your particular skin condition and what Peel treatments would be most appropriate for you.

What will happen during a therapeutic peel procedure?

All Medical-Grade peels involve applying a therapeutic solution to remove the outer layers of skin so that a smoother, more evenly pigmented, glowing layer of skin can appear. Each type of Peel works differently, and produces different results. In general, the stronger the therapeutic solution and the deeper the peel, the more impressive the results will be.

How long does a therapeutic peel take?

Peels for the full face generally take 10 – 15 minutes.

Does a therapeutic peel procedure hurt?

During the procedure, most people feel a brief tingling sensation. The sensation will vary depending on the type of peel.

What will I have to do following a therapeutic peel procedure?

Peels generally cause some dryness and flaking which will gradually fall away. After any peel, we recommend using a moisturizer and a sunscreen for several days.

Who is a good candidate for a therapeutic / medical-grade peel procedure?

In general, the best candidates for therapeutic peels are people:
» In good physical health
» Want to look younger and more refreshed
» Unhappy with the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, acne, large pores or rough skin texture
» Realistic in their expectations.
