SKIN TREATMENTS FOR: SUN DAMAGE, BROWN SPOTS, REDNESS, ACNE
Most of us experience that upsetting moment of one day looking in the mirror to discover unsightly signs of aging. A face marked by sun damage, uneven skin tone, age spots (or brown spots), redness, rosacea, broken capillaries, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, or adult acne can get it in the way of your most beautiful, confident self. Don’t despair. At Radiance Medspa of Westchester we offer photorejuvenation skin treatment, commonly known as photofacials, (also fotofacials) the only procedure that can effectively treat all these skin issues, turning back the clock to rejuvenate skin, making it appear radiant once again.

At Radiance of Westchester, we boast the very best technology available to date for photorejuvenation: the Palomar Starlux 500, the most powerful light-based aesthetic platform in the world. This state-of-the-art system has specialized handpieces which filter light to target blood vessels and pigmented lesions. Each band of the spectrum has a wavelength that is ideal for different treatments, such as sunspot removal and vessel clearance.
This Laser Pulsed Light System is superior to typical lasers because it spreads light over a wider area of skin allowing for fuller coverage and a more effective treatment. The Palomar Starlux 500 delivers results that are clinically proven to be superior to many lasers used at other facilities, ensuring you the most versatile, effective, and comfortable aesthetic experience possible.
AGE & BROWN SPOTS (Hyperpigmentation):
Hyperpigmentation is caused by an increase in melanin in the skin, the substance in the body that is responsible for color (pigment). Age or brown spots are moderate examples of hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage, hormonal imbalance, or inflammation. After a series of Radiance’s photofacial skin treatments age and brown spots will gradually disappear.
Note: If you suffer from Melasma, the condition marked by tan or brown patches usually on the face, Radiance offers a highly effective treatment: Fractional Skin Resurfacing
ROSACEA/REDNESS:
Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that causes Redness and produces small red bumps or pustules. Radiance’s photofacial treatment program can help reduce the conditions of Rosacea, improve skin tone, and reduce redness.
BROKEN CAPILLARIES/FACIAL SPIDER VEINS:
Sun damage and aging, along with excessive alcohol or caffeine, can cause the facial skin and capillary walls to lose elasticity and the capillaries beneath the skin to become visible, appearing “broken.” With Radiance’s Photofacial treatments these broken vessels may disappear or gradually fade away.
ENLARGED PORES:
Pores are tiny openings in the hair follicles of the skin. The features of acne—oily skin, blackheads, and whiteheads—cause pores to be clogged with oil, stretching the skin and enlarging pores. Genetic background and sun damage can also cause enlarged pores. Radiance’s photofacial skin treatments can help shrink the size of these enlarged pores and reduce redness.
ACNE:
Acne is the term for clogged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples and lumps (cysts or nodules) that occur on the face, back, chest, and neck. Acne is often most associated with the teenage years, however, many suffer from acne well into adulthood. Radiance treats acne with Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), a recent and significant advance in skin therapy. PDT treats acne by de-activating the bacteria that cause acne, opening pores, and slowing down overactive sebaceous (oil) glands. Levulan is applied to the skin before the photofacial and then activated by our photofacial laser to provide this treatment.
Note: Radiance also treats Active Acne with Therapeutic Peels and Acne Scarring with Fractional Skin Resurfacing.
