Radiance Medspa of Westchester uses Palomar Medical's 1540 Fractional Skin Resurfacing laser, the latest generation in skin resurfacing technology to treat Stretch Marks, Acne & Surgical Scarring, Fine Lines & Wrinkles, Melasma (brown pigment), and imporve Skin Tone & Color.
Palomar's 1540 Laser is the only one that has recieved FDA approval for Stretch Marks.
The Palomar 1540 laser uses many microchannels to penetrate into the dermis far below the outer most skin layer causing collagen contraction and remodeling. The outer surface of the skin is cooled by the patented sapphire tip eliminating pain and leaving the outermost layer of skin to act as a barrier to the elements while the deeper tissues grow healthy, new skin. The result is smoother skin, less discoloration, and mild skin tightening. There is negligible downtime and no reason to miss work.
Palomar Medical invented the technology used by Fraxel, the other major skin resurfacing brand, and still holds the patent. As such, Palomar's 1540 prodcues virtually the same results as Fraxel, but Palomar now provides this treatment without the pain and downtime associated with Fraxel that requires a topical anesthetic before application (no cooling tip) and causes about 7-10 days of swelling and peeling after treatment.
